  • Capstone Farm Country Park

    Volunteer Conservation task days

  • Riverside Country Park

    Mud kitchen

    Get messy with mud & water play in our mud kitchen. Please remember that this is messy so wear old, warm clothes and wellies; we recommend bringing spare clothes and a towel to change into. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Mud kitchen runs once a month on Wednesday mornings.

    Nature journal packs

    Collect your nature journal packs from our visitor centre and search the park for autumnal wonders. Delve deep into what you can see smell, hear and touch and take your time to sketch ,collect and journal while you explore.

    • £3.00 per pack.
    • Available from the Visitor Centre from 9 Sep to the 30 of Nov

    Candle holder making

    Fancy making a candle holder out of clay? Join one of our rangers to make a candle holder out of clay, be as crazy and inventive as you like !

    Toddlers Christmas Crafts

    Festive crafts to keep your elves entertained with a special visit from Father Christmas and photo opportunities.

    • Ages 2 and above, £4 per child

    Spoon carving

    Join the rangers and carve your own spoon from materials sourced from the park and learn the basics of whittling and green woodworking. Please bring a packed lunch, drink, suitable clothing, and footwear, please arrive promptly as there is a short trek to location; a shelter will be provided if the weather is a bit soggy!

    Wednesdays in January, 10.45 to 2.15pm.

    Meet at the Riverside Country Park visitor centre.

    • Age 14 to adult, under 16s must be accompanied by a participating adult.

    Winter ramble

    Go on a ranger led nature trail, exploring the parks variable habitats and identify the species living on site; spot our winter visitors and learn about our park in the colder months.

    Please arrive promptly and wear suitable clothing and footwear; you may like to bring snacks, drinks, a notepad/pencil.

    Make a birdbox.

    Build and decorate your own birdbox creating a home for our feathered friends throughout the coming year.

    Natural bird feeder

    Do your bit to help our little feathered friends by joining the rangers  to create a bird feeder from natural materials to hand in your garden!

    Build your own wildflower Planter

    Build your own planter with the rangers sewing wildflower seeds to bring the seasons blooms into your home.

    Easter Crafts

    Come down to riverside visitor centre for a selection of Easter themed crafts to keep your little ones busy over the Easter holidays.
